REPAIR HELP

Need luggage repair? Start here.

SD Luggage is a luggage retail store, not a repair shop. We do not replace wheels, zippers, handles, shells, stitching, locks, or hardware.

If your bag is damaged, the best next step is usually the brand's warranty program or a local luggage, shoe, or bag repair shop. We built this page because we get a lot of repair calls, and we want to save you time by pointing you toward the right next step.

What we can help with in person: basic TSA combination-lock help, recycling an old bag, and honest replacement advice if repair no longer makes sense.

What we can still help with at the store

Basic TSA combination-lock help

Forgot the three-digit combination on a standard TSA luggage lock? Bring the bag to the showroom during store hours and we can often help open a basic TSA combo lock at the counter, no charge.

This is not a lock repair service. Damaged locks, jammed hardware, cut locks, electronic locks, and non-standard lock issues may need a repair shop or the manufacturer.

Recycle an old bag, get 10% off

Have an old or broken bag you're done with? Drop it off at the showroom and get 10% off your next in-store purchase. No minimum, in-store only.

This is a recycling drop-off incentive, not a repair service, trade-in, or cash buyback.

Three practical paths

Start with the brand

If your bag has a brand name on it, the brand's warranty program is usually the cleanest first move. They can tell you whether the issue is covered, whether parts are available, and how to submit the bag. Brand-by-brand links below.

Search locally for repair

For older bags, off-brand bags, or damage outside warranty, search "luggage repair near me", "shoe and bag repair", or "zipper repair near me" on Google Maps. Call before you drive — ask if they work on luggage, whether they can get parts, and what the rough price range is.

Replace it when repair doesn't pencil out

Some bags are worth fixing. Some aren't. If a repair quote is close to half the price of a comparable new bag, replacement often makes more sense, especially for broken wheels, telescoping handles, cracked shells, or inexpensive luggage.

We're happy to help you compare replacement options at our Mission Valley showroom, but repair work itself still needs to go through the brand or a repair shop.

BRAND WARRANTY STARTING POINTS

Brand warranty starting points

Use these links as starting points. Warranty terms, repair forms, fees, approved repair centers, and shipping instructions change by brand, so always confirm details on the brand's own site.

Don't see your brand? Search the brand name plus "warranty" or "repair" — that usually gets you to the right page in one click.

Common repair questions

Do you repair luggage?

No — we sell luggage, we don't repair it. For an actual repair, the brand's warranty program or a local luggage, shoe, or bag repair shop is the right call.

Can you replace a wheel, zipper, handle, or lock?

No, none of that. Wheels and telescoping handles are usually brand-specific parts, so the brand is the first call. Zippers, stitching, and straps are sometimes handled by local cobblers and sewing shops, depending on the bag.

Do you sell replacement wheels, handles, zippers, or parts?

No. Most luggage parts are brand-specific and model-specific — even similar-looking wheels rarely interchange. Contact the brand directly, or ask a local repair shop whether they can source the right part.

I bought the bag from SD Luggage. Can you fix it?

Repairs go through the manufacturer, the airline, or a repair shop, depending on what happened. If the bag is unused and you're within the 30-day return window, bring your receipt or the card you paid with — see our refund policy. Damaged in transit by an airline? Start with the airline. For warranty issues, start with the brand.

My bag was damaged by an airline. What should I do?

Start with the airline as soon as possible. Airlines often have specific claim windows and may require photos, baggage tags, receipts, or an in-person damage report. We don't process airline damage claims or repair airline-damaged bags.

Can you tell me whether my bag is worth repairing?

We can talk through general replacement vs repair, but we don't inspect bags or give repair quotes — that's a job for a repair shop or the manufacturer. Rough rule of thumb: if the repair quote is close to half the price of a comparable new bag, replacement often makes more sense.

Do you buy used luggage or take trade-ins?

No, we don't buy used luggage. You can drop an old or broken bag off for recycling and get 10% off your next in-store purchase — no minimum, in-store only.
